How to Add and Invite a User to Digital Watchdog DW Cloud
Pre-Requisites
· You must have a DW Cloud administrator account.
· The DW Spectrum Server must be connected to DW Cloud.
· The user you are inviting must have a valid email address.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Log Into DW Spectrum
Open the DW Spectrum Client on your computer. Log in with your administrator credentials.
Ensure DW Cloud is Connected
Go to System Administration (right-click the system name in the Resource Tree). Select the Cloud tab. Confirm that the system is connected to DW Cloud. If not connected, sign in using your DW Cloud credentials and link the system.
Open the Cloud Management Portal
Visit https://dwspectrum.digital-watchdog.com and log in using your DW Cloud email and password.
Select the System You Want to Manage
Click the system name listed under “My Systems.”
Navigate to the Users Section
In the left sidebar, click Users.
Click “Invite User”
Click the Invite User button at the top right.
Enter User Information
Provide the email address of the person you want to invite, choose their role (Admin, Viewer, etc.), and optionally include a message.
Click “Send Invitation”
The invitee will receive an email with a link to create a DW Cloud account (if they don’t have one). Once accepted, they will have access based on the assigned permissions.
Confirm User Access
You’ll see the new user listed in your DW Cloud system. You can adjust roles or remove access at any time under Users.
Optional – Assign Specific Camera or System Permissions
In the DW Spectrum Client:
- Go to System Administration > Users.
- Find the user under the DW Cloud users section.
- Set specific access rights (e.g., certain cameras, PTZ control, playback,
export).
Troubleshooting Tips
User didn’t receive invitation?
Ask them to check spam/junk mail. Resend the invitation or verify the email address.
Can’t connect to DW Cloud?
Ensure internet access and that TCP ports 443 and 80 are not blocked. Update DW Spectrum to the latest version.
Permissions not working?
Review the assigned role and camera-level permissions within the Spectrum Client.
