Microsoft Teams Rooms Set-Up for Neat

Part 1: Create a Microsoft Teams Rooms Account

Microsoft Teams Rooms systems like the Neat Bar require a dedicated resource account licensed with a Microsoft Teams Rooms license.

Step 1: Create a Resource Mailbox


1. Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center: https://admin.microsoft.com
2. Go to “Resources” > “Rooms & equipment”
3. Click “Add a resource”
4. Fill out:
  - Name: e.g., Conference Room A
  - Email: e.g., confroomA@yourdomain.com
  - Type: Room
5. Click “Add”

Step 2: Assign a Teams Rooms License


1. Go to “Users” > “Active users”
2. Find the resource account (enable “Show all users” if needed)
3. Click on the account > “Licenses and Apps”
4. Assign a Microsoft Teams Rooms Basic or Pro license
5. Save the changes

Step 3: Set Calendar Permissions (Optional)

To allow the Neat Bar to display meetings, run this command in Exchange Online PowerShell:

Set-CalendarProcessing confroomA@yourdomain.com -AutomateProcessing AutoAccept

Part 2: Add the Account to the Neat Bar

Step 1: Boot the Neat Bar + Neat Pad


1. Connect the Neat Bar and Neat Pad.
2. Wait for the Neat Pad to detect the Neat Bar.

Step 2: Select Microsoft Teams as the Platform


1. Select Microsoft Teams as the platform.
2. The Neat Pad will download the Microsoft Teams Room app.

Step 3: Sign In with the Room Account


1. On the sign-in screen, enter the room account email and password.

2.Make sure you are using the account you just set up for the Teams Room

    account and not your personal email address.
3. Device syncs with Microsoft 365 and loads calendar.

Step 4: Complete Setup


1. Name the room and confirm time zone.
2. Neat Bar is now online as a Microsoft Teams Room device.

Optional: Manage the Device via Teams Admin Center


1. Visit https://admin.teams.microsoft.com
2. Go to Teams devices > Teams Rooms
3. Confirm the Neat Bar is listed
