CloudTalk Holiday Greeting Setup with Auto Attendant

A repeatable administrator procedure for scheduled holiday closures, early closings and special call handling

RECOMMENDED CALL FLOW Main DID → current inbound destination → Holiday answering rule → Holiday Auto Attendant → voicemail, on-call number, queue or other destination.

What this guide accomplishes

Creates a holiday-specific Auto Attendant with a clear greeting and caller options.

Creates the correct domain-level Time Frame using specific dates and times.

Adds a holiday Answering Rule to the object that actually receives the main DID.

Places the holiday rule above normal business-hours and default rules.

Provides a safe test and rollback process before the office closes.

Before you begin

Log in with Office Manager, Site Manager or administrator permissions for the customer domain.

Confirm the domain time zone and the exact closure and reopening times.

Know the main DID(s), current inbound destination, holiday destination and voicemail box or on-call number.

Prepare the holiday greeting as a WAV/MP3 file or a written script for portal recording.

IMPORTANT Menu names and icons can vary slightly by SkySwitch portal release and permission level. The underlying objects remain the same: Auto Attendant, Time Frame and Answering Rule.

The order that makes the routing work

The DID routes to an Inbound Routing User, Auto Attendant, queue or user.

That object evaluates Answering Rules from top to bottom.

The active Holiday Time Frame must match the current date and time.

The Holiday rule forwards Always to the Holiday Auto Attendant.

The Holiday Auto Attendant plays the greeting and processes menu, timeout and invalid input.
